Obituary of Verna Violet Lackie

It is with great sadness that the family of Verna Violet Lackie announce her passing which occurred on May 22, 2022, at Embassy Hall, Shannex, Quispamsis, New Brunswick. Born in Barnesville, NB, on May 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Violet (Parlee) Rodgers.

Verna is survived by her children: James Lackie (Kim) of Bloomfield, NB and Edna Baribault-McGaughey (Wayne) of Saint John, NB; grandchildren: Brian, Richard, Jeffrey, Terri-Lynn, Jennifer and Julie; sister Olive "Pat" Acker of Saint John, NB; as well as several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, Verna was predeceased by her husband James Harvey Lackie; brother Lloyd Rodgers and sister Dorothy Ellis.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 6 – 8PM at the Hampton United Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 11:00AM from Hampton United Church, 24 Robb Court, Hampton, NB. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John, NB.
