Obituary of Theresa Mary Jones
It is with great sadness that the family of Theresa Mary Jones announce her passing which occurred on Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, New Brunswick. Born in Bathurst, NB on February 22, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lauza (Larocque) Caissie.
Theresa worked for several years at the General Hospital /SJRH where she retired. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Legion Branch 62. She was a strong willed and feisty woman who enjoyed a good argument, with a wink and a smile when she thought she won. Theresa enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking big meals; her meat pies were a big hit every Christmas. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with all her family and especially her grandchildren.
Theresa is survived by her children: Sharon Clark of Kingston, NB, Shirley Ficker (Norbert) of St. Martins, NB, Frank Jones (Stella) of Kingston, NB, Elmer Jones (Cathy) of Summerville, NB, Herbert Jones (Dorothy) of Summerville, NB, Robert Jones (Debra) of Reeds Point, NB, Irvin Jones of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, Donald Jones (Cindy) of Saint John, NB, Michael Jones (Wendy) of Saint John, NB, Wayne Jones (Sheila) of Saint John, NB, and Wanda Hachey (James) of Leduc, AB; twenty-five grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; siblings: Bertha Paulin, Val d'Or QUE, Diane Caissie , ON, Alma Nowlan, Red Bank, NB, Raymond Caissie, Hampton, NB, Emile Caissie, Bathurst, NB; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her loving husband Elmer Jones; and son Darrell Jones.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. The funeral service will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Trinity Anglican Church, Kingston, NB. Masks will be required when entering the church for the service. Interment will take place in the spring at All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Clifton Royal, NB.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Ridgewood Veterans Wing – Liberty Lane for their excellent care given towards Theresa and her family. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.
