Dear Carolyn, Joe, Brandon, Carrie, Nancy & Family
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Your mom was like another second mom growing up. I spent a lot of time at your house getting in trouble with Carolyn. All the sleepovers, hangouts in the basement. Your mom was one of the best. She was always so welcoming and loving not to mention the best teacher ever. As a teacher my favourite thing I still remember to this day was her awesome reading corner. I spent a lot of time in there, she had the best books. She was an amazing woman and she will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Sending you love and hugs.

Dear Harold, Carolyn, Nancy, and families,
My sincere condolences. Ruby was a very special lady who touched the lives of so many, from her students to all those who had the pleasure of knowing her through her community and genealogical work. I always enjoyed our chats and her columns in the newspaper. What a wealth of information she compiled to be left to all who come…quite a legacy. Carolyn, thank you for ensuring that I know about Ruby’s passing, it was deeply appreciated. My mum asked me to let you know that she will be in touch with you soon, as she is unable to attend the visitation today due to Ray's death and visitation.
My thoughts are with you all,

Sending my sympathy to Ruby's family at this time of your sad loss. I will miss working with Ruby on our Genealogy projects and the friendship we shared during the past 20 years. The picture I added is that of Ruby portraying Mrs. Upham of Titusville. It was taken at the Lions Villa when our NB Genealogical Society members had the opportunity to learn the Upham family history and their contribution to Kings County. As a teacher and a genealogist Ruby influenced many of us in our quest for knowledge of our ancestors. Ruby will be remembered and missed by all of us.

I would like to echo Kim’s comments. Mrs. Cusask was also my Grade 5 teacher at Bayview Elementary School. It was so nice to be in her class. She challenged us, but made it fun. She gave us responsibilities, taught us the value of hard work and fairness. I remember the faith she had in some of us, selecting us to work on special projects for the school, or encouraging us during Christmas concerts. When I graduated with my teaching degree, I was immediately hired to work as a long term supply at Bayviee school and had the chance to work with Mrs. Cusack. I couldn’t believe after so many years, and growing into an adult, she knew who I was. I had a lot of fun working with her. We were able to do some things together and if students finished their work, I sometimes took them outside for extra PE time. Both Mrs. Cusack and Mrs. James saw a lot of potential in myself. I know she had a bid impact on many of her students loves.
So very sorry to hear about her passing. My thoughts are with her family.

On behalf of the New Brunswick Genealogical Society, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Ruby's family. Throughout the years she connected people with lost books and forgotten places. She sparked the interest for others into researching their own family history. Ruby was first my neighbor, then my grade five teacher & a friend whom I often spoke to on social media over the past decade.
There was a really mean statement of graffiti sprayed on the back of Bayview school about a teacher that I didn't get along with; only to be found guilty by association & ordered to clean off oil based spray paint with ammonia & SOS pads. I did not do this yet I was a really bad kid who had gotten away with a lot of other horrible things & deserved this karma & then some.
Ruby came out after hours for what seemed like several hours & scrubbed it off with me to the point that our fingers were raw & bleeding. I thanked her for it several times and she played it off like it was her duty.
I had several amazing teachers I'm greatful for but Ruby was by far the biggest influence in any successes I accoplished in my adult years. Rest easy my mentor & beloved friend!
Condolences to her wonderful family & all who loved this great human.
