Obituary of Archie Bayer

It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Edward Archibald Bayer announce his death, which occurred on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Gay’s River, NS, on November 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (Wilson) Bayer.

Archie grew up in Gay’s River, Nova Scotia and loved to read and play cards. He also enjoyed knitting, volunteering with the Hampton Food Basket and was always generous with his time.

Archie is survived by his loving wife Louise Bayer (Preston) of Rothesay, NB; sons: Michael Bayer of Hampton, NB and Sean Bayer (Colleen Nyborg) of Saint John, NB; grandchildren: Maryssa and Declan; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Archie was predeceased by his brother John Bayer and his wife Edith.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB and will be held privately. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Archie may be made to the Ostomy Canada Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
