Obituary of Josephine Margaret Greer

It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Margaret Greer announces her death, which occurred on December 17, 2020 at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre, Hampton, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, on May 23, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Margaret (Perkins) Fordham.

Josie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was always ready for a game of cards with anyone who would stop by, and often treated her visitors to a pot of tea and a slice of fruitcake. Her eyes were always pulled towards a well stacked pile of wood, and on her 60th birthday she enjoyed her first ever motorcycle ride, which was a highlight for the whole family.

Josie is survived by her loving children: Noreen Trail of Quispamsis, NB, Victor Greer of Nackawic, NB, Linda (Ron) Stockford of Wickham, NB, and Edward (Sandy) Coggan of Kingston, NB; her stepchildren: Bill (Paulette) Coggan, and Barb (Jack) Doucette; her grandchildren: Frank (Gloria), Stacy (Scott), Kerry, Jonathan, Julia (Matt), Nick (Melissa), Jennifer (Brandon), and Aaron; her great-grandchildren: Isaac, Ben (Jessie), Hannah (Braxton), Melissa (Jeremy), Zach, Alex, Devon, Kyle, Kyra, Daniel, Sophie, Madeline, Vera, Cora, and Nathan; and her great great-grandchildren: Aubree and Cohen. Josie is also survived by her sisters, Dolly Scribner and Jean Saunders, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Greer; her partner, Howard Coggan; her stepchildren: Lois Muir and Carl Coggan; her siblings: Robert, Doug, Morris, and Thelma; and her son-in-law, Robert Trail.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where public visitation will occur on Monday December 21st, from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral service and interment will be held privately.

Donations in memory of Josie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (NB) or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
