Obituary of Butch Rice

It is with a deep sadness that the family of Allan Phillip “Butch” Rice announces his passing which occurred on December 7, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Digby, NS on October 2, 1951, he was the son of the late Phillip Victor “Sam” and Edna (Robichaud) Rice.

Butch is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Rosalie “Rose” (Secord) Rice; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law: Mary Secord and her husband Paul Kaeser of Cornerbrook, NL, David Secord and his wife Caren of Calgary, AB, Peter Secord and his wife Siew Kim of Halifax, NS, Philip Secord and his wife Wendy Salsman of Brookside, NS and Andrew Secord and his wife Linda Chiang of Vancouver, BC; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care given towards Butch, your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB and due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services will be held privately. Donations in memory of Butch may be made to the Hampton Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
