I am so sorry for your loss of Mr. Nice. I was privileged to have him as my principal in the 90's for the duration of my junior and senior high years. I worked in the office during lunch hour in high school and one of my favorite memories of that time was getting to know him a bit better. He was such an encouragement in my life regarding my post secondary education choice. He was a wonderful man and leaves big shoes to fill. May you be comforted by your memories of him.

Marilyn, it is with great sadness to hear of the passing of a very special man in our lives at Belleisle Regional High. We loved him dearly and if it wasn't for him and Mr. Bowlin, Glenn would never have accomplished what he did in his life. They insisted he take Academic in High School and then to go on to University for his degree. He will be dearly missed and greatly remembered. You were always so kind to us whenever we should meet and we will be thinking of you now and for many years to come as a very special spouse to a very special teacher xoxo. I'm sorry I cannot make it to the visitation, but we are hoping that Glenn will be able see you and send our condolences to you and your family.

Don and Linda (Smith) McCormack posted a condolence
Dear Marilyn and family, It is with sadness that we learned that David had lost his battle with cancer. We had not heard that he had becom so ill. As you know, David was one of our first bosses as the long-standing Principal of Belleisle Regional High School. He chose both of us to teach on his staff, and we reaped the benefits of his expertise over the many years we both taught there. As we sat and reflected upon our days at work with Mr. Nice, we shared stories of our experiences. Don remarked, "He was the one who gave me my first start, and I'll be forever grateful for that." As for me, Mr. Nice came to the elementary school where my formal training had naturally led me, and he assured me I could teach at any level. He offered me a full-time position that allowed me to continue teaching the very students I had that same year for at least three more years as their middle school English teacher, and some yet another year when David convinced me to teach a high school level class. Those students became so precious to me that many of us still stay in regular contact nearly thirty years later. He gave me that gift by believing in me. He also showed patience with the fiesty young woman I was, who was either lobbying for something I felt important or teary over a needy student. His door was always open to both of us. As the then newer kids on staff, David watched us take interest in each other. After four years, he exercised his right to send us to a leadership conference in Boston, where we returned from that noteworthy training better teachers but also engaged. As you can see, David was a part of our lives. We thank you for the countless hours you gave of him so that the students, parents and staff of BRHS could be our best. With Don a principal of eighteen years, we know the sacrifice family makes in such a public career. David will be remembered and cherished by many. Incidentally, two former students who we haven't heard from in years who let us know of David's passing. They obviously cherished the BRHS family just like us. Our sincere sympathy on your profound loss. Yours truly, Don and Linda (Smith) McCormack

David Delcloo posted a condolence
My sincere regrets to the Nice Family with the passing of an Old Friend from Simonds Regional High School,Class of 1960. David and I were classmates from 1959 til graduation in 1960. The memories of our time in Ms Gregg's history class have always remained with me. During that year, there was a provincial election and we had many discussion in class regarding the outcome.I believe David and I were were sole classmates who believed in a Liberal winning result of Louis Robichaud. David and I crossed paths later in 1962- 63 at Simpsons/Sears in Saint John. He and I were employed in different deparments. Our paths crossed much later at a 25th Class Reunion in 1985 at the old Simonds Regional HS on Bayside Drive. After many years, we met again at the 50th Reunion in 2010, it was a rare treat to meet again after so many years. Since that reunion, I have been back to Saint John in 2014 for the class reunion in July and was told of David's inability of attending. My thoughts reach out to David's family and friends at this time of loss. Although the distance is great,I feel a loss in my heart with David's departure. I will always remember David. Dear Marilyn, Jonathan, Michelle and Tasha, I have been thinking a lot about Dave in recent days. I guess we all hope at the end that we have made a difference, that we have contributed and that we have had a positive impact on others. I think you have some idea of his influence on so many. Dave was a good man, a strong leader who had a definite vision for our school. He strived to maintain a first-class facility and worked hard to ensure students of BRHS finished their time at our school prepared for post-secondary pursuits and the real world. He never shied away from making a difficult decision. He encouraged his staff to remain current, to develop professionally and to challenge our students. He had very high expectations and I believe our grads benefited greatly from this. Throughout the last 29 years I have greatly valued his advice and wise counsel. In the last year it was so great to see him remain positive throughout his illness. He remained so interested in the school, the community and in people. Please know that we share in your loss. We have lost a good man who made a difference in many lives. I know you have lost someone who greatly valued his family. Our deepest syymathy.
