It is with deep sadness, the family announces the death of Sheila Jane Burns of Kingston, NB, wife of Art Burns, which occurred on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her loving family at her side. She was born on October 22, 1954 in Montreal, QC, a daughter of Betty (Goodday) Mitham and the late Walter Mitham. She was a lifelong athlete, representing Canada at international orienteering championships during the 1970s; more recently, she was active with the Hampton River Runners and a regular participant in the annual MS Society bike tour between Sussex and Saint John. Sheila was a familiar face in Hampton through her work at Spuds ‘n’ Things on Main Street and her involvement in many community events. She is survived by her much loved and cherished husband, Art; she was the beloved mother to her children: Charles (Charlene) Smith of Quispamsis, Daniel (Katelyn) Smith of Oromocto, Nicholas (Laura) Smith of Rothesay, Michael (Jennifer) Burns of Fredericton, her stepsons Alex Smith of Lynnwood, WA, USA and Brian Smith of Ottawa, ON; she was tremendously proud of her grandchildren: Arla, Sophie, Wyatt, Marley and Gavin. She is also survived by her brothers Bruce (Sarah) Mitham of Midland, NB, Peter Mitham of Vancouver, BC; she will also be remembered and sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visiting on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM. Funeral service, conducted by Rev.
