It is with sadness that the family of Murray Richard Erb, age 59, of French Village, NB, husband of Christine Erb announces his passing which occurred on Friday, March 13, 2015, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on November 27, 1955 in Saint John, NB, a son of Alma (Lamb) Erb and the late Otty Erb. Rick was a well loved family centred man, very warm and loving son, brother and friend. Married his one and only Christine in 1977 and together they raised three beautiful children. In the past year he was blessed with two healthy grandsons that gave him so much joy they were the light in his eyes every day since they arrived. Rick was also a much respected craftsman and carpenter, self employed for many years and people sought Rick to work on their homes and businesses because his work was impeccable and always dealt with his customers fairly and honestly. His name spread by word of mouth and usually had more work than he could ever hope to handle with many repeat customers. We can only say we were all better for knowing Rick and will miss him every day. Rick is survived by his much loved wife of 37 years, Christine; son Murray Erb (Beth) of French Village, NB; daughters: Beth Thompson (Michael) of Saint John, NB, Emily Erb (Gab Surette) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren Linken Erb and Benjamin Thompson; his mother Alma Erb; brother Wayne Erb (Charlene); sisters: Caroline Clark (Lenny), Judy Erb, Jane Erb, Debbie Warren (Mark); aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his infant son Jonathan and brothers David and Bruce. He is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, (506) 832-5541, with visiting on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Rob Marsh will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Reid’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Upham.
