Cal, I was so sorry to learn that you had lost your mother. I know she had lived a long and hopefully happy life, but there is no-one like our parents and it's always sad to have to let them go, particularly on Christmas Day, but sort of nice too to think God called her home on His own special day. I know you and Barbara were extremely good to her. God Bless. NORMA

Chester and Freda were very good friends with my parents Edward and Jackie Crossman. I have fond memories of them as well while growing up in Hampton. My first hair cut ever (of many) was done by Chester, Harry Beyea. Cherish the memories.

DEAR CALVIN AND BARBARA, I WAS SADDENED TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF YOUR MOTHER. ALTHOUGH I ONLY SAW HER A FEW TIMES SINCE I WAS A CHILD, I LOVED TO HEAR HOW SHE WAS DOING OVER THE YEARS FROM TIM OR LARRY. SHE WAS SO KIND TO ME WHEN I WAS A CHILD AND ALTHOUGH I WAS NOT TRULY HER FAMILY, I ALWAYS FELT SHE TREATED ME LIKE I WAS AND THAT MEANT A LOT TO A CHILD. SHE SEEMED SO KIND AND I HOPE KNOWING SHE LIVED SO LONG AND THE MEMORIES YOU HOLD OF HER IN YOUR HEART WILL HELP YOU THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME. IT IS SO WONDERFUL THAT SHE LIVED SO LONG BUT A MUM IS A MUM AND NO OTHER WILL EVER TAKE HER PLACE.

Claire and Ernie Dykeman posted a condolence
I am so sorry for the recent loss of your dear mother. I know that the happy memories of the past will provide you comfort and peace of mind in the future. You did everything that love could do, and no mother could ask for anything more. When the pain of your loss lessens you will realize that your mother has merely moved from your physical presence into your heart. That acceptance will finally bring you peace and a smile to your face when you think of her, instead of the sadness you feel now.

Dear Barb, Cal & Family, Our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your darling Freda. We were lucky to have known her for many, many years & spent some wonderful times with her. We were particularly thankful the time we were house/dog-sitting in Bonny River & I slipped & broke my wrist. She came over immediately to watch the dogs (Bonny & Kayla)while John took me to the hospital in St. John! Bless her heart! Love to you all,, John & Sandy, Pugwash/Dade City,Fla.
