Obituary of Lorraine J. Dingley
After a lengthy illness, the Lord wrapped his arms around Lorraine and took her home to be with her beloved husband Jim of 60 years on Monday August 4, 2014 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Center. She was the daughter of the late Osborne and Pauline (Nicholson) Peever.
Lorraine was an amazing mom to James Dingley Jr. of Quispamsis and Tammy Hamilton (Robin) of Quispamsis, a very devoted and loving gramma to Melanie, Matthew, Amanda, Mark and Brett, a great sister to Carl Peever of Ingleside, ON, George Peever of Garden City, Michigan, Lawrence Peever of Ottawa, ON, Jackie Daugherty of Gatineau, QC, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides being a wonderful wife and mom, Lorraine worked for LM Berry and Universal Sales in her earlier years. She is much respected and known for her volunteer work at Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home and for her hundreds of handmade lap robes and slippers she lovingly donated to several nursing homes in the area.
Lorraine also received the Guardian Angels seal award for her donation of dozens of handmade newborn and premi hats she donated to the hospital. She also made warm hats and mittens over the years to donate to needy children in the area.
She donated blood for many years regularly and was a life member of the United Church Woman where she also spent a lot of time helping out at Saint David's United Church in Rothesay, NB.
Lorraine enjoyed travelling with her husband Jim, and besides doing crafts was a member of Loyalist City Cloggers which she very much enjoyed.
A very special thank you goes out to nursing, dietary, environmental, recreation staff, hairdresser and volunteers of the Dr V. A. Snow Nursing Home in Hampton for the love, kindness and absolutely amazing care they gave Lorraine over the last four years. This care gave the family peace and comfort as well. An unconditionally loving and caring lady will be so missed by many.
