It is with sadness, the family of Doris Irene Erb, of Hampton, NB, age 90, wife of the late Howard Erb who passed away in 2001, announces her passing which occurred on June 4, 2014, at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John, NB. She was born on November 18, 1923 in Belleisle Creek, NB, the daughter of the late Trevor and Hazel (Perkins) Dibblee. Doris is survived by her three sons; Sydney Erb (Carol) of Quispamsis, NB, Brian Erb of Hampton, NB, Everett Erb (Sherry) of Hampton, NB, four grandsons; Peter & Heather, Jeff & Lisa, David & Renee, Joe, great-grandchildren; Matthew, Sarah, Lauren, Avery, Evan, Kate, Ellie, Landen, Kayla, sister Joyce Somerville of Moncton, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Marie Erb, sisters; Hilda Dibblee, Lois Dibblee, Gladys Burgess and Phyllis Goddard. Doris was an active member of the Central Norton Baptist Church, and a Dominion Life Member of the Carrie Johnson Women’s Missionary Society. She enjoyed the Ladies Bible Study group on Thursdays. In earlier years she was active in the Community of Hampton helping with the Hampton Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and canvassing for the Canadian Cancer Society. Her working years were spent at Morrison’s Grocery Store and Anna’s Dairy Bar. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Bobby’s Hospice, Extra Mural Nurses, and Joan’s Home Care ladies for making Doris’ last days pleasant and comfortable. She is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visiting on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8pm. Funeral Service, conducted by Rev. John Tremblett, will be held from Central Norton Baptist Church, Bloomfield, at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 8, 2014. Interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery.
