Obituary of Mildred Brown
It is with great sadness, the family wishes to announce the death of Mildred Nettie Brown, widow of W. Everett Brown which occurred at her residence at Loch Lomond Village, Saint John, on Thursday, March 6, 2014, formerly of St. Martins, NB. She was born on August 2, 1919 at Big Salmon River, NB, the daughter of the late James and Bessie (Daley) Black.
Mildred was a resident of St. Martins and area all of her life where she worked as acting Post Master for 27 years. She was also a member of St. Martins Baptist Church, Life member of R.C.L Branch 63 Ladies Auxillary, Dominion and Provincial Life Member Women’s Missionary Society and St. Martins Senior Citizen Group and Fundy Trail Cancer Walk.
Mildred is survived by daughter; Phyllis (Lester) Weston of Bayview, NB, son; John (Wanda) Brown of St. Martins, one sister; Joyce (Douglas) Loughery of St. Martins, eight grandchildren; Suzanne (Bradley) Brown, Leanne (Dana) Noftell, Janice (Tom) Parsons, Rodney (Dawn) Weston, Geoffery (Sherry) Weston, Bruce (Kyla) Weston, Garth Brown, Travis (Tasha) Brown, nineteen great grandchildren; Jacklyn (Richard) Smith, Jenna (Justin) Robichaud, Jani (Jamie Ryan) Brown, Jillisa Brown, Laura Weston, Katrina Noftell, Alyson Weston, Stephanie Weston, Robyn Comeau, Alicia Brown, Scott (Courtneay) Morton, James Brown, Hudson Weston, William Weston, Joseph Noftell, Dustin Noftell, Rickey Comeau, Dylan Brown and Hunter (Hachey) Brown and two great great grandchildren; Jocelyn Smith and Isabella Robichaud and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons and one daughter in infancy, sister Marjorie and brother-in-law A.L. Jackson, brothers Hartley and sister-in- law Kathleen Black and Cecil and sister-in-laws Helen Black and Muriel Black..
Visiting will take place at St. Martins Baptist Church, St. Martins, NB, with visiting on Sunday 3 to 5 pm, March 9, 2014 and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, March 10, 2014. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Geoff deJong, will be held from the church on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow in the church hall after the service. Internment will take place in St. Martins Community Cemetery in the spring.
