Obituary of Judith Ann Milley

With much sadness we announce the passing of Judith Ann Milley on November 4, 2020, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on May 5, 1946, in the town of New Waterford, NS. She was the daughter of the late Lillian Beatrice Powell, and was a member of the Calvin United Church, New Waterford, NS. Judy is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 39 years, Kenneth Milley; her two sons: Walter (Tracy) Macdonald of Nauwigewauk, NB, and John Macdonald of Hampton, NB; her brothers: Harry (Cathy) Powell and Kevin Powell of Moncton, NB; and nephew, Stephen of Sackville, NS. Judy is also survived by her five grandchildren: Skylar, Brandon, Samantha, Bryson, and Addyson, who were her pride and joy. She lived for their happiness. Judy always put her family first. This was evident when she sold her home in Cape Breton and moved to New Brunswick in order to be closer to them. Judy loved her trips to Calais, yard sales, lobster, and a good game of Tarabish, Crib, and Bingo. She looked to visiting her family and friends every summer in Cape Breton. Before she moved to New Brunswick, Judy was a foster parent for 15 years. She and her husband Kenny opened their hearts and home to many children. She believed in tough love and always felt these children needed a loving but firm, guiding hand. Some of those she fostered have kept in touch with her over the years. Judy was a pillar of strength for her family and even during her hardest days would smile and never complain. She had faith that we would all met again. She is in God's hands now and she will remain forever in our hearts. Along with her parents, Judy is predeceased by George T Gillingham Sr. (Papa), George T Gillingham Jr (Uncle Tom), and Thomas and Mary Spencer. Special thanks to the Palliative Care team at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care and compassion. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Services for Judy will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Judy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (NB), or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
