It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Gladys Bovaird announces her passing which occurred on August 2, 2020, at the Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, NB. Born in Stanley, NB on May 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Clive and Clara (Keenan) Johnston. Elsie is survived by her children: Sharon Fiander of Wards Creek, NB, Mary-Ellen Webster (late Laverne) of Lakeside, NB, John Bovaird (Gail) of Upper Loch Lomond, NB, Joe Bovaird (Pat) of Hampton, NB, Perry Bovaird (Andrea) of Apohaqui, NB, Michael (late Marilyn) Bovaird of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, Jackie O’Hanley (Tim) of Belleisle, NB, and Tim Bovaird (Pam) of Quispamsis, NB; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elsie was predeceased by her husband Walker Bovaird; daughter Judy Coughlan; son Danny Bovaird; grandson Adam Bovaird; sisters: Pearl Peacock and Vinna White; and foster parents: Tom Mersereau and Mabel Mersereau (Prince). Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday, August 9, 2020. Interment will follow at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Elsie may be made to the Canadian Mental Health – Saint John or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
