Obituary of Craig Barnett

It is with great sadness that the family of Craig Edward Barnett, age 41, of Hampton, NB, announces his death which occurred on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sussex, NB, on June 17, 1979 he was the son of Lesley Perry (John Perry) and the late James Barnett. Craig is survived by his much loved and cherished wife of 17 years, Sara (Touchie) Barnett; his beloved sons: Aidan, Cohen and Ewan; brother Brian Barnett (Samantha Robichaud), and niece Anna of Fredericton, NB; sister Tara Barnett (Derek Ram), nephew Noah and niece Lauren of Calgary, AB; mother-in-law Debbie Touchie; brother- in-law Adam Touchie; and half-brother Chris Barnett of Ottawa, ON. Craig is remembered by friends and family as a dedicated father and friend, who loved to spend his time outdoors and followed his boys’ sports with enthusiasm. He graduated from Mount Allison University where he studied Economics. He was a trusted team member for co-workers at the Irving Pulp & Paper Mill and his long-standing rugby team, the Belleisle Rovers. He could often be found working away on projects around the house, or making questionable choices of hockey favourites to win the Stanley Cup. Craig loved to open his home and it was the frequent meeting place for friends and family for backyard parties and bonfires. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, and due to COVID-19 restrictions, private services will be held, with a public celebration of life to follow at a later date. Donations in Craig’s memory may be made to the Hampton High School Scholarship and Bursary Foundation, or to the memorial of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through ReidsFH.com.
