Obituary of Olive Arletta Morrissey

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Olive Arletta Morrissey of Kingston, NB announce her passing on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre in Hampton surrounded by her loving family. Olive was born in Point Wolfe NB, 88 years ago, the daughter of the late Robert and Verna (Douglas) Wortman. Olive is survived by her daughter; Kimberly Pierce of Kingston, 3 grandchildren; Jennifer Pierce, Michelle Thomas (Jim) and Christopher Pierce (Jessica), 2 great grandsons; Michael and Colby and a great granddaughter Jordyn. Olive was predeceased by her husband Leo Morrissey and by 2 brothers; Robert and Raymond. Olive will forever be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humour. She was an avid lover of animals and enjoyed watching the birds at her many bird feeders. She was always knitting socks and dishcloths on chilly evenings. She had many careers over her lifetime. From a hairdresser, to a telephone operator, where she met her lifelong friend Betty Conners. Her heart was always in nursing and she spent many years at the Hampton Medical Centre. In more recent years her pride and joy became her 3 great grandchildren. She will forever be affectionately remembered as "The Granny". The Family wish to thank Betty Kilpatrick and the staff of the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre for their kindness, love and hospitality during her final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
