Obituary of Leon Barr

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leon "Colby" Barr of Kingston NB, announce his passing, which occurred at his home, Friday January 10, 2020. Colby was born in Saint John NB on November 3, 1939 a son of the Late Clinton Colby Barr and Helen Leona (Worden) Barr. Colby is survived by his wife Judith Ann (Mitchell) Barr, 2 daughters; Deborah Barr of Kingston, NB and Kitty Martin (Paul) of Bloomfield, 2 sons; Sonny Barr (Judy) of Kingston and Robbie Barr (Christa) of Hampton, 1 sister; Delta White of Saint John, 3 brothers; Harley Barr of BC, Garrey Barr (Claudette) of Kingston, Marty Barr (Veronique) of Kingston, Sister in Law; Gwen Barr of Kingston, 10 grandchildren; Katie Hatvani (Peter),John Curtis Jones (Courtney) , Holli Cole (Nolan), Mitchell Barr, Joey Thompson (Isabelle), Mike Thompson (Beth), Kira Della Valle (Giuliano), Jenna Floyd (Josh), Ethan Barr and Isaac Barr, 8 great-grandchildren; Asher, Colton, Fenwick, Lillian, Hazen, Aidan, Auri and Benjamin, 2 step grandchildren; Mike Jones and Jennie Burley (Jamie), 9 step great-grandchildren; Noah, Hannah, Gracie, Hayley, Emily, Abby, Jeremy, Cassandra and Annabelle, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 1 brother; Carl. Colby was an active member of Kingston Baptist Church. His main occupations were woodsman, night watchman and ferry operator. He resided on the Kingston Peninsula where he met and married his sweetheart Judy and raised four children. His passion was for his family. He also loved to fish, hunt, country music (J. Cash, R. Travis) and to work in the woods. Colby loved playing sports and games with his grandchildren, camping and hosting campfires. The family is forever grateful to have had Colby in their lives. He will be forever treasured in our memories and hearts. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Dolan and staff of the Oncology Department of the Saint John Regional Hospital. We would like to also thank all the people who have came to visit, brought food, offered prayers of comfort and to those who have contributed to the funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 2-4:00 pm and 6-8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 11:00 AM from Kingston Baptist Church. Interment will take place in the spring at Kingston Baptist Cemetery.
