Obituary of Robert Bradley

It is with heavy hearts the family of Robert Bradley announce his peaceful passing at his home in Barnesville on Tuesday October 29, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Robert Bradley (Bobby) was born in Westmorland Parish, NB in 1942. The family then moved to Grove Hill, NB in the late 40s where he lived until his late teens. It was then that Bobby made the decision to move to Ontario with his older brother Ansley for a few years until returning back to Grove Hill at the age of 21. Bobby met the love of his life Darlene when he was 22 years old on Waterloo Street in Saint John, NB. They were married on October 2, 1965. It was then that they began building their life and home together by 3rd Lake in Barnesville, NB. By 1973, their family was complete with 5 children: Joanne, Tim, John, Kim, and Bryan. He worked in the woods until 1975 when he began a new job working in Coleson Cove for a few years. In 1977, he bought a porter and started a business selling hardwood and softwood from the land he purchased on Grove Hill. In 1983, Bobby started working for the Department of Transportation as a snowplough operator where he continued to work for 26 years until his retirement. Bobby was always an outdoors man. He loved camping, hunting, four wheeling, snowmobiling, and he especially loved horseback riding. You could always find him with a harness on hand to hook a horse up to a sleigh. Bobby had a love for animals and always had a hobby farm full of small animals that included: cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, goats, and pigs. He also had horses and ponies for his children to enjoy riding and competing in horse shows. His greatest joy was to visit with family and friends, and he loved it when they came to visit him, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren; who were his pride and joy. Bobby was loved by all who knew him. He hugged everyone and his goodbyes were the longest in Barnesville. He always had a smile on his face, a kind word to share and he was a strong man of faith. Bobby was always considered the sweetest man known by all. Bobby will be greatly missed by his wife and children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous family and friends. Bobby’s family would like to extend thanks to his doctors and extra mural nurses, as well as many family and friends for all their love and support during his illness and this difficult time. A special thank you to Cheryl Gosselin who went well beyond being a caregiver and will remain a forever friend to all the family. Robert is survived by his loving wife Darlene (McKinney) Bradley, his children; Joanne O’Brien, Timothy Bradley (Tanya), John Bradley (Linda), Kimberly Goguen (John) and Bryan Bradley. Robert is also survived by 2 brothers; Roy Bradley (Terri) and Wilfred Bradley (Cathy), 3 sisters; Lenora Wellman, Rebecca Brown and Dorothea McLaughlin and several step brothers and step sisters. Robert is also survived by 12 grandchildren; Jennifer Byers (George), Jeremy O’Brien (Kayla), Carrie-Ann Bradley, Christopher Bradley (Danielle), Andrew Bradley (Maddy), Joshua Bradley (Keisha), Kaitlyn Singh (Andrew), John-Ryan Goguen (Gabby), Justin Goguen, JT Goguen, Jackson Goguen and Matthew Bradley and 12 great-grandchildren; Riley, Mia, Abby, Amelia, Gracie, Jaden, Aniyah, Neilah, Kinley, Boaz, Roya and David. He was pre-deceased by numerous family members.
