Obituary of Kenneth C. Golding

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ken Golding announces his passing on Thursday, October 24th, at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John N.B. on May 6th, 1934, he was the son of the late Clifford and Alice Golding. Ken is survived by his wife of 54 years Ann (Alexander) Golding of Hampton N.B.; children: Kerry (Derek) MacKay of Calgary, Brent (Kim) Golding of Hampton, Christine (Paul Doucette) Golding of Halifax; grandchildren; Laryssa, Logan, Julia, Rebecca, Ali, Sophie, Rylan, and Remy. Ken is also survived by his brother Jack Golding and many nieces and nephews. A special mention to Ken’s beloved sisters and brothers in-law who were such an important part of his life. Ken was employed by the Saint John Post Office up until his retirement in 1990. He lived most of his adult life in the town of Hampton and participated in many activities with the town, including councillor, curling, and coaching many of his children’s sports. Ken loved all sports, but he was a lifelong and long-suffering fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. One of the greatest joys of his life was watching his grandchildren in all of their many sports and activities. Ken also enjoyed good times with friends and family playing cards and socializing. He had a special place in his heart for Friday nights with the gang. Ken was well known for his sense of humour and good-natured teasing. He was kind, gentle, and reliable. Ken could always be counted on by the people who were important to him. A devoted family man, Ken’s passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of those who were privileged enough to have known and loved him. He will be missed. Special thanks to Dr. Bone for his compassionate care of Ken.
