It is with great sadness that the family of Lynn Hopey Rodgers of Smithtown, NB, announces her passing which occurred on August 31, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Pollett River, NB, on January 23, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Hopey) Lutes. Lynn pursued studies in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1965, 3 days prior to getting married. Over the years, she worked at Kitchener Waterloo Hospital, Sussex Regional Health Centre and ended her career at the Hampton Medical Centre. She was an active member and organist at the Smithtown United Baptist Church, always willing to donate her time and energy wherever she was needed. She was also a member of the French Village Ladies Guild and the Women’s Missionary Society. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She could often be found at an ice rink watching her granddaughters figure skating, her grandsons play hockey or at the stock car races cheering on family. Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert "Bob" Rodgers of Smithtown, NB; son Steven Rodgers and his wife Angela of Smithtown, NB; daughter Karen McCully and her husband Larry of Petitcodiac, NB; cherished grandchildren: Matt Rodgers, Andrew Rodgers, Charlotte McCully and Sarah McCully; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lynn was predeceased by her sisters: Eleanor Renton and Nancy Cousins. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm.
