Our thoughts and prayers go out to all family members. Although it had been quite a few years since joining Austin on the range or at a function he was a true gentleman and family was everything and never passed up an opportunity to brag about them. He leaves this world with wings flying high above as a guardian angel to all below.

Mary, I just read the obituary with tears of sadness and the shock has not passed. Austin and I met in the winter of 1984 at the Customs College and our friendship and work intertwined for the last 35 years. We talked about work, firearms, family and yes politics...his favorite past time. The obituary sums up my dear friend. I will miss him and my stop ins at Hampton or our long telephone chats and humourous e-mails made possible by retirement. My thoughts, prayers are with you and your family. He will be dearly missed, however we are comforted that his values will be passed on to the next generation and beyond.

Hi Mary, It is with great sadness that I heard the news of Austin's death from John Griffin. I met Austin in the eighties where he invited me to give the first IPSC Black Badge course for the Hampton club. From then on we were fast friends and server together for many years as members of the original Provincial Firearms Advisory Committee. I will remember him as an astute debater who could come up with facts without the benefit of written material all from memory. I will miss his phone calls, never short chat but always interesting. Rest well my friend until we meet again.

To Mary and family We were shocked to hear that Austin had passed away. He was truly a family man. I had many conversations with him over the years and it was usually about things going on with the boys or Marissa. He loved each and everyone of you and was proud of your accomplishments. We worked closely over the years and he was very knowledgeable which always came in handy when someone needed information. I enjoyed every minute I spent with him and he will be missed. I hope you all find comfort in the wonderful memories. God bless you all. Don and Judy Collins
