With heavy hearts, the family of W. Stewart Tays announces his passing on Saturday August 3rd, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family and snoop dog (Gracie). Stewart was born on Bloomfield Ridge on August 16th, 1941 son of the late William and Edna (Long) Tays. Stewart was the husband of the late Joan (Roberts) Tays. With his big smile, song and positive nature he touch the lives of many people without even realizing it. He always said "it is what it is" Stewart was a natural connector, he talked to anyone anywhere and often found someone to play music with where ever they traveled. They loved to travel. He enjoyed playing music for benefits and played for vets for over 44 years. He loved to help others. He loved cars, traveling, camping, making wine, photography, music and he had a passion for writing songs. Stewart had a strong family bond and could often be found having morning coffee with his brothers and sisters. He had many great friends that he spent time with over the years and that held a special place in heart. His favorite quote to guide his children and grandchildren was "it is hard to soar like an eagle when you travel with turkeys." Stewart is survived by his children, Kim Tays (Bruce Cameron), Michael Tays, Sherry Whittaker and Jason Tays, Siblings Murray, Ralph, Jack, Clifford, Helen Rattray and Paul; Grandchildren Kristy-Ann, Jonathan, Adam, Corey, Ryan, Jessica, Nicholas and Jennifer; Great Grandchildren William, Emily and Carson, and many niece and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, June Hutchings. Visitation will be at Reid’s Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, on Thursday, August 8th, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral will be held on Friday at 2 PM at the funeral home, burial will be in Big Rock Cemetery Bloomfield with a reception to follow at his home 599 Hall Road, Passekeag, NB, musicians are welcome to bring their instruments.
