Obituary of Anne Richard

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anne J. E. Richard of Hampton announce her passing at the Raylee Brooks Manor, Bloomfield on Sunday April 21, 2019. Born in Ratters Corner, NB in 1938, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Alena (MacKinnon) Cripps. Anne is survived by her sons; Kevin (Karen) Richard of Hampton and Greg (Heather) Richard of Hampton, her sister Emily Kilpatrick of Upham and 4 grandchildren; Brandon, Kristen, Colton and Dillon. Anne was predeceased by her husband A. Ralph Richard , a sister Shirley and brothers; Laughlan and Richard. First and foremost, Anne was a devoted wife and mother: fanatic fan of every sport her boys played- soccer, baseball, cycling, and hockey. To the boys, she will be fondly remembered as the "dead deer finder extraordinaire". Anne was very proud of her grandchildren, and cherished the time she spent with each of them. As a "professional" bingo player, she would often be found at the local hall with her bingo mates Irene Bettle and Doreen Rouse. Anne was an active member of the Hampton Seniors Resource Center, Hampton Legion, and past member of the Hampton Hoedowners and the Fundy Cloggers. She loved fiddle music, community suppers, cards, and dancing. The family would like to make special mention to Krissy Travis and the staff of Raylee Brooks Manor, we immediately felt like family; Billy for playing his guitar for Anne; and Meals on Wheels; and Dave Johnson a very special neighbor and friend. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 11:00 am from Reid’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Donations in memory of Anne may be made to The Oncology Unit of the SJRH or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
