I'd like to send my condolences to Bernie's family. He was a friend and neighbour. I enjoyed talking with him as he walked Shannon around to have some fresh green grass and I fed her apples. I have a personal signed copy of his book of rhymes to remember him by. He was a great person and will be sadly missed.

John and I send our condolences. Bernard and I spent many hours riding in the mountains and sitting around camp fires telling stories and talking about the good old days. He thought a lot of my father (Ross Sharples). Dad taught him how to box and that ended kids picking on him. He never forgot that. Illl miss you Bernard (few people called him Bernard). Guess he tolerated Heath and I calling him that for old times sake. Happy trails Bernard!

Please accept my sincere condolences. I have many fond memories of Bernard, especially those of riding and camping in the Canadian Rockies. He often shared his stories and poetry with us around the campfire. Bernard was an intelligent, talented and compassionate person who will be missed by so many. Cousin Heath

Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your Father. I first met Bernie when we opened the new Navy facility for HMCS BRUNSWICKER in Saint John. Bernie was always a pleasure to chat with. He was proud of his Naval service, but more so of his Parks Canada Service and of course his family. He spoke of all with great fondness. May you take comfort knowing we share in your loss and strength from our prayers. Sincerely, CPO (retired) Paul D Smith Coxswain HMCS BRUNSWICKER
