It is with heavy hearts that the family of Vernon (Jake) Alfred Brown announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday October 14, 2018 at the age of 82. He was the son of the late Joseph (Blair) Brown and Margaret (Wheaton) of Hampton. Predeceased by his loving wife Martha (Sheehan) in 2011. He will be deeply missed by his daughters Brenda Pacitto (Joseph) Saint John, Debbie Brown-Steane (Terry) Quispamsis, Sandra Smith (Stephen) Rothesay; Grandchildren Matthew Pacitto (Pamela) Ottawa, Heather Johnston (Adam) Quispamsis, Jordan Steane (Krista) Swift Current and Ryan Steane Grande Cache; Great Grandchildren Georgia Rose Steane and Sawyer Stephen Johnston and his special friend Jean Dixon. Survived by his sister Donna Campbell, brothers Donald Brown (Nancy), Richard Brown (Betty) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Gordon, Murray and Ivan, sisters Jean and Pauline. Jake retired from CN Rail in 1993 after a 28 year career. He enjoyed meeting with his Tim Horton coffee buddies and his friends at Legion Court. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at SJRH Palliative Care, Staff at KV Extra Mural, Dr. Allaby and Dr. Burnell. Arrangements entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. There will no visitation or funeral service. Following cremation a private family interment will take place at Union Cemetery, Belleisle Creek.
