Obituary of Rose Robertson
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rose Robertson announces her passing which occurred at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. She was the wife of the late Ronald Robertson of Bloomfield who passed away March 10, 2018. Born on July 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Doris (Ingalls ) Justason.
Rose worked at Strescon for 50 years until she was unable to work due to health reasons. Rose and Ron were married for 58 years and they were best friends, they loved camping and having family and friends around. They welcomed anyone into there home and enjoyed life. Rose volunteered for many organizations in the community of east Saint John, minor hockey, minor baseball, heart and stroke foundation. Her and Ron absolutely love harness racing and did until they couldn’t any more. They moved to Bloomfield and focused on grandchildren and had the pleasure of winter in Florida for 3 winters.
She will be forever missed by daughter Donna Mallett and her husband Russell; son Billy Robertson; grandchildren: Joe Mallett (Sarah), Cheryl Mallett (Ralph McKinney), Mike Mallett (Desiree Brown), Nick and Miranda Robertson; four great grandchildren; sister Phyllis Hustwayte (Nort); sister Ola Mahar; sister-in-law Mary McLaughlin (Jim); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by her sisters: Grace and Hilda Justason; nephew Terry Hustwayte; cousin George Mahar; and brother-in-law Tom Mahar.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Joanne Fellows, nurses and staff at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. Your kindness and compassion given towards Rose during her time there will not be forgotten.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where a Celebration of Rose’s life will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6 to 8pm.
