Obituary of John A. Snow
With appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of John Alfred Snow announces his passing on August 28th, 2018. Born on January 11, 1933, in Hampton, NB, he was the son of the late Dr. Vernon and Dorothy (Wall) Snow.
John is survived by his loving wife, Linda Snow of Hampton, NB; son Mark (Janis Anderson) of the Kingston Peninsula, NB and daughter Andrea Snow (Vicki Doyle) of Saint John, NB; grandchildren Lily and Emilia; brothers Dr. Richard Snow (Margaret) of Fredericton, NB and Jeff Snow (Carolyn) of Hampton, NB; sister Susan Salgado of Saint John, NB as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother-in-law Dr. Isidro Salgado and nephew Dr. David Salgado.
John was a loving husband and father, proud of his children and thrilled to be a "Gampy" to his two granddaughters. John was a true Hamptonian, a gentleman who was well known and respected in the community. For many years, he and his brother Jeff owned and operated Snow’s Hardware, and in earlier years he was a member of the Hampton Volunteer Fire Department. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved duck hunting, fishing and spending time at Wood Lake Fishing Club. He also took pleasure in sitting on his front deck at home looking out at the Kennebecasis River. John loved a good meal ("the best I ever had") and complained if it wasn’t!
The family would like to thank "his girls" at the Teaching Dialysis Unit of the S.J.R.H., the caring staff in the Cardiac Unit of S.J.R.H., and family physician Dr. G. Griffin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home, Hampton (506-832-5541)
There will be no visitation or funeral service, however the family is hosting a drop in celebration of John’s life on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018 between 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the Match Factory, 454 Main St., Hampton, NB. All are welcome.
