Obituary of Murray Long

It is with great sadness that the family of Murray M. Long announces his sudden passing, at the age of 71 years, on August 17, 2018. The son of Marjorie and Elbert Long, he was born August 2, 1947, in Hampton, NB. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Barbara (nee O'Blenis); mother-in-law, Mary O’Blenis; his children, Charlene (Steve) and Ken (Rebecca); and his five grandchildren Kayla, Brayden, Ella, Ryan and Liam who thought the world of him. Murray was well known throughout the community and came from a large family. He will be dearly missed by his many brothers and sisters; Elbert (Evelyn), Jerry (Valerie), John (Norine), Stephen (Yvette), Margo (Steve), Susan (Russ), Judy (Eddie) and Linda. He is predeceased by brothers Ronnie and George, and sisters Betty, Sylvia and Dorothy. He had many family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. Murray always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye, a dance in his step and a song in his heart. He loved classic cars, music and dancing the night away. He will live forever in our hearts. There will be a Celebration of Life held by the family. Family and friends are invited to join them as they proudly celebrate Murray’s life. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Donations in memory of Murray may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through ReidsFH.com.
