Obituary of Florence Lorraine Gallant

It is with heavy hearts the family of Florence Lorraine Gallant of Hampton announce her passing at her home on Monday August 13, 2018. Born in East Chester NS, 85 years ago, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Smith) Rushton. Florence is survived by 2 sons; Robert (Sue) Gallant of Hampton and Thomas (Muriel) Gallant of Saint John, 2 daughters; Mildred (Bill) Steen of Apohaqui and Barbara Belliveau of Sanichton, BC, 1 sister; Anna Grant of Fredericton, grandchildren; Amanda Gallant, Marion(Cody) Donovan, Shelby Gallant (Steve Robertson), Trinity Gallant, Angela Greenlaw, Dallas Steen, Laura (John) Connell, Tom (Tracey) Gallant, Julie (Ken) Hebert, Terry (Mike) Huff, Ken Belliveau, Denis Belliveau, Lucky (Anevay) Belliveau, Brenda Gallant, Bill Gallant, Lisa Gallant, Jason Gallant. Great grandchildren; Collins and Makenzie Donovan, Spencer Robertson, Dakota, Kristen, and Trista Greenlaw, Jaron and Lindsey Connell, Jayna, Emalee and Chelsey Gallant, Kolby and Meaya Hebert, Levi Larsen, Lace-e and Cody Basaraba, Jon Belliveau, Hannie Hagley, Jailyn Belliveau, Eric Gallant Great-great grandchildren; Damien and Elijah, Amiah and Izzy, Mia, Wyatt Florence was predeceased by her husband Paul Gallant, 3 sisters; Evalyne, Cassie and Ettajane, 1 brother; Charles and close friends; Doris and Eileen. For all who knew Flo, family was her life. She was our biggest supporter. Her son Bob was her world. All her grandchildren gave her bragging rights like you could never imagine. Each and every accomplishment was shared with anyone who would listen. As the great grand ones came along (Collins, Makenzie and Spencer) she got her greatest joy by being with them as they started to grow. Sewing and quilting were her passion and sharing those with the grandkids made her circle complete. She loved to travel and was lucky to have great friends to travel the globe with. From her oldest friend to her closest friend, they too became an extension of our family. In the last few years her daughter Mildred was able to be her travelling companion, her last trip being to BC in June 2018 to attend her grandson’s wedding. Her home on Lakeside Road was her "Little slice of Heaven" and she could rarely be seen without her sidekicks Nismo, Mocha, Lilo and the terrors Nani and Jackson. Her greatest wish was to pass on to the next life surrounded by the love of her family in her slice of heaven and as in most everything else she was granted that wish with love abound. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16th, 2018 from 1-3 and 6-8 pm. A celebration of Florence’s life will be held at Reid’s Funeral Home Chapel, 11 am Friday, August 17, 2018 . Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Saint John. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated. Personal condolences to the family and memorial donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
