Obituary of Laura Godsoe

With celebration of a life well lived, the family of Laura Bessie Godsoe announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her home in Saint John, NB, one day after her 97th birthday. Born in Saint John, NB, on February 26, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Truswell) Ellis. Laura is survived by her loving children: Wanda Herrington and her husband Jim of Quispamsis, NB, Sharon Godsoe of Saint John, NB, Linda Ewart of Saint John, NB, and Kevin Godsoe of Campbell River, BC; nine adored grandchildren who had many nicknames for her; five cherished great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Laura was predeceased by her husband Daniel Godsoe; son James Godsoe; sister Ellen Zeigler; brother Charles Ellis; and son-in-law Joe Lycewski. Laura was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6 to 8PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2:00PM from Reid’s Funeral Home Chapel. A private family interment will take place at Browns Cemetery in the spring. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation towards the Saint John Extra Mural Staff and Doctor Luan Le for all their care given towards Laura and her family. It was thanks to you that Laura was able to fulfill her wish of living at home until her passing. Also a special thank you to her care givers, Farah and Bev, your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.
