Obituary of Loreen Kinney

It is with sadness that the family of Loreen Kinney announce her passing on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 at the St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home, Saint John. Born in Fort Francis Ontario, October 1, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (O'Brien) Darrah. Loreen will be missed by her loving family including her daughter, Juanita Sheldrick, a son Roger Merritt, 2 stepsons; Allan Kinney (Brenda) and Mark Kinney (Anne), 2 brothers; Stanley Darrah and Douglas Darrah (Dolly), 2 sisters; Leona Flewelling and Yvonne Henderson (David), 2 brothers-in-law; Charles Tucker and Gerald Boucher, 3 grandchildren; Lesley Sheldrick-Sampel (Mike), Jody Sheldrick and Jeff Merritt, 6 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Loreen was predeceased by her parents, her second husband Willis Kinney and her first husband Laurence Merritt, a son; Walter Merritt, 2 step-daughters; Joyce Cochrane and Joan Kinney, a son-in-law William Sheldrick, 4 sisters; Edith Fullerton, Dorothy Tucker, Sandra Boucher and Hazel Saunders. Loreen was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Clifton Royal, a member of the A.C.W., and lived in Moss Glen the greater part of her life. She had been a self employed hairdresser and also operated a Mail Route for 15 years, as well as operating with her first husband, Merritts General Store, Moss Glen. Loreen also had been an active member of both the Peninsula Pearls and the Kingston Friendship Group. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home (506-832-5541) 1063 Main St. Hampton, where visitation will be held Friday, January 5th, 2018, 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held from Reid's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 6th, 2018. Spring Burial will be in All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery, Clifton Royal. Donations in memory of Loreen may be made to the All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
