It is with sadness that the sisters and brothers announce the passing of their beloved brother, J. Leo O'Halloran, age 77, which occurred on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton, N.B. Born in Albany, PE, on June 16, 1940, he is the son of the late John and Georgie (Noonan) O'Halloran. Leo is survived by his daughter, Deanna O'Halloran of Miscouche, PE; son, Shawn O'Halloran of Cole Harbour, NS, and three grandchildren; sisters: Eileen (Vern) Myers of Stoney Plain, AB, Helen (Gordon) Todd of Grande Prairie, AB, Ruth (Cecil) Taylor of Niagara on the Lake, ON; brothers: Len (Jean) O'Halloran of Wakefield, NB, Douglas (Rita) O'Halloran of Balzac, AB; sisters-in-law: Ann O'Halloran of Saint John, NB, Joyce O'Halloran of Hamilton, ON; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special cousin Barb (Gordon) Reeves. Leo was predeceased by his brothers: Gerald, Sheldon and infant sister,Diane. In earlier years, Leo worked as a Ball Mill Operator and as a Filtration Operator, in the Nickel Mine in Rankin Inlet, NWT. and later as a potato farmer in PE. He also worked on a farm in Elderbank, NS and later managed the High Low Farm in Hampton, NB. For several years, Leo worked at The Saint John Shipbuilding and Dry Dock in the Crane Dept., while also operating a Produce and Slaughter business at his own farm, in Hampton. Leo was a great gardener of vegetables and flowers and had a special way with animals. He was a hard worker and was always ready to lend a hand to others and help anyone in need. He provided a home for four children, in the earlier days in PE. Leo enjoyed hunting, gardening, and tending to his animals. Leo always thought the world of his children and when they were growing up, he prepared and maintained a skating rink and swimming pool for them and the neighbourhood children, on the Hall Road in Hampton. Leo had a special relationship with his Mother and loved his Father dearly. Leo was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
