It is with sadness that the family of Merlin "Mike" Larry Chase, age 70, announces his death which occurred on Friday, August 4, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. Mike was born in Bloomfield, NB on January 29, 1947, a son of the late Elmer Chase. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Chase (Mercer); sons: Larry (Kat) Chase of Edmonton, AB, Keith (Cindy) Chase of Rothesay, NB, and Kevin (Amy) Chase of Moncton, NB; grandchildren: Michael, Tyson, Kelsey and Clara Chase; brother Steve (Sharon) Chase of Bloomfield, NB; sisters: Barb (Clifford) Tays of Bloomfield, NB, Joyce Mitchell of Bloomfield, NB, Bonnie (Curtis) Marchbank of Hampton, NB, and Diane Tait of Saint John, NB; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his brothers: Vernon, Ralph, Karl and Ernie Chase. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541) 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. The Funeral Service conducted by Archdeacon Robert Marsh, will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from Reid’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place in Big Rock Cemetery, Bloomfield, NB. Donations in memory of Mike may be made to the Lung Association or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
