It is with great sadness that the family of William "Bill" Rolfe Butland, age 71, of Saint John, formerly of St. Martin’s, announces his death which occurred on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, NB. Born on June 3, 1945 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late William H. and Flossie (Rolfe) Butland. Bill is survived by his sister Pat Brown of St. Martins, NB; brother-in-law Medley Whitney of St. Martins, NB; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sisters: Marjorie Snow, Pearl Butland, Helen Jones, Marlene Whitney and Treva Langstroth; and brothers Leslie Butland and Rupert Butland. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton where visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, on Saturday, January 14, 2017 with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM. A private family interment will take place in the spring at St. Martin’s Community Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to St. Martin’s Baptist Church, the Parkinson Society, or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
