It is with great sadness, the family of Grace Winnifred Brown, age 88, of Hampton, formerly of Bloomfield, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Dr. V. A. Snow Center, Hampton, NB. She was born on June 25, 1928 in Passekeag, NB, a daughter of the late Millage and Edith (Bettle) Allaby. Grace is survived by her daughter Debbie Braydon and her husband Gary of Rothesay, NB; son Danny Brown and his wife Judy of Sussex Corner, NB; grandchildren Jennifer, Joel (Christy), Bridgette (Adam), Luke, Connor; sister-in-law Ivy Allaby; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Grace was predeceased by her loving husband Morris "Buster" Brown; brothers: Murray, Roy, Victor and Lloyd Allaby; and sisters: Evelyn Mills, Margaret Tracy and Bernice McCready. Grace had a significant impact on the many community members with whom she was associated. In the many, many years of active membership of the Central Norton United Baptist Church, she very rarely missed a service. Grace graduated from Hampton Consolidated School in 1945, after which she did a few years of office work for Irving. She and her husband Buster ran Brown's Cabins on their Bloomfield property and provided kind hospitality for many tourists and others passing through. Grace always had this kindness on display for those who had the pleasure to know her. She is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, (506) 832-5541, with visitation on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 2 to 5 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at 11:00 AM, from Bloomfield Baptist Church, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Donations in memory of Grace may be made to the Bloomfield Baptist Cemetery, the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
