Obituary of Mary E. Breen

The death of Mary Elizabeth Breen, of Renforth, NB occurred on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre. Mary was born on May 18, 1928 in Saint John, NB, wife of the late Joe Breen and a daughter of the late Ernest and Florence (Driscoll) Morey. Mary grew up in Saint John and after graduation, became a nurse at Saint Joseph's Hospital and married Joe, her high school sweet heart. They later moved to Renforth and spent a full and happy life together. Mary's quick wit and many "fun" expressions and stories will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. She loved her nursing career and went on to teach nursing and later became the Health Nurse at her beloved St. Joe's. Painting was a lifelong passion for Mary and her landscapes are well known and appreciated. She also enjoyed golf and bridge and was a long time member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club. Surrounded by family and friends throughout her life, Mary always brightened a room with her charm and class. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mary is survived by her two sons John (Mary) Breen of Hampton, NB and Michael (Jeanne) Breen of Hampton, NB; seven grandsons, Tim, Gregory, Jack, Patrick, Matthew, Benjamin and David; four great grandsons and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Joe and her brother, Russell Morey. The family would like to thank the staff at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre for their caring support. She is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visitation on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Rothesay, NB on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
