Obituary of Debbie Thomas

After a courageous battle with cancer Deborah "Debbie" Marie Thomas, age 62, of Willow Grove, NB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Bobby’s Hospice with her loving family by her side. Born in Sussex, NB, on July 26, 1954, she was a daughter of Donald Buchanan and the late Yvonne (Parlee) Buchanan. Debbie is survived by her loving husband Alan Thomas of 41 years; children Trevor (Dianna) Thomas of Willow Grove, NB, and Melissa Thomas of Quispamsis, NB; grandchildren Josh and Ryley Thomas; brothers Ken (Karen) Buchanan of Saint John, NB, and Wayne (Kim) Buchanan of Rothesay, NB; sisters: Marlene (Wilkie) Leaver of Belleisle Bay, NB, Cindy (Tim) Creamer of Saint John, NB, and Christina (Ernie) Keenan of Hampton, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, Debbie was predeceased by her dear friend Marien Blair. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Kelly Hudson-Lewis will held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Hampton United Church. A private family interment will take place at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Sussex Corner at a later date. The family would like thank everyone for the meals, calls, visits, emails, texts, flowers and prayers that they have received during this difficult time. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the Extra Mural staff and to the God sent staff of Bobby’s Hospice and volunteers for their fantastic care provided to Debbie and her loved ones. Donations in memory of Debbie may be made to the Bobby’s Hospice, the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
