It is with sadness that the family announces the death of Phyllis Jane Gilliland, age 79, of Kingston, NB, wife of Mac Gilliland, which occurred on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, NB. She was born on April 12, 1937, in Fowlers Corner, Welsford, NB, a daughter of the late Guy and Winnifred (Spears) Ogden. Phyllis is survived by her husband Mac of 61 years; daughters Jane Freeze (Derrick) of Beaver Dam, NB, Ellen Matheson (John) of Saint Andrews, NB, Laura Despres (Brian Maxwell) of St. Albert, AB, Monica Clements (Vince Pevlin) of Kingston, NB; sons George Gilliland (Brenda Stevens) of Saint John, NB, Ross Gilliland (Noreen) of Rothesay, NB, Calvin Gilliland (Cathy Smith) of Kingston, NB; nineteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her foster-son Adam Nicol; grandson Jesse Coughlan; sisters Ann MacFarland, Ferne McCavour and brother Edward Ogden. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832- 5541) 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Visitation will be held at the Kingston Parish Hall, 3946 Route 845 on Monday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8PM. The funeral service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church at 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery at a later date. Memorials in memory of Phyllis may be made to Trinity Anglican Church, Lung Association of NB, Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation of NB or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
