Obituary of Kay Doucet

Katherine E. Doucet of Grand Bay, NB, passed away with her family by her side on March 6, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 80. Born in Sillikers, NB, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Marjorie (Matthews) Matchett. Kay was a retired employee with the Bank of Nova Scotia. Kay loved life, enjoyed dancing, loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Making homemade bread, pickles and beets was a regular hobby of hers. Kay is survived by Fiancée Marven McAllister, two daughters; Lee (Tracy Owen) of Vernon, BC, Pam (Greg Janes) of Saint John, NB, three sons; Reginald (Wanda McAlary) of Lower Sackville, NS, Robert (Kris) of Hampton, NB, Greg (Jocelyn) of Oromocto, NB, six sisters; Roma Allison of Boom Road, NB, Christine Whitney of Whitney, NB, Eva Matchett, Rhoda King and Elsie MacTavish all of Moncton, NB and Valerie Harvey of Cassilis, NB; seven grandchildren; Alex, Mitchell, Jared, Derek, Ryan, Erin and Ben; one great grandchild, Rael and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 39 years Clifford Doucet; five brothers; Sydney, Silas, Delmont, Peter and Blair, three sisters; Lillian, Maureen and Martha. She is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visitation on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm . The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 12 noon from Hampton Baptist Church. Interment will be in Hampton Rural Cemetery.
