Obituary of Doris McKinney
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doris Irene McKinney announce her passing, wife of the late Clifford McKinney, of Nauwigewauk, NB, which occurred on Friday, December 18, 2015, at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John, at the age of 83. Doris was born on April 13, 1932, the daughter of the late Austin and Gladys (Totten) Blakney.
Doris was a resident of Quispamsis in the greater part of her life moving to Bonney Road in 1984. She was a member of the A.C.W. and Hampton Hoedowners Square Dance Club, and spent many hours volunteering at the Hampton Senior Resource Center. She modeled hats in her younger years, and was an avid card player. "Dory" as she was known to many, loved to play the piano, sing, dance, and always enjoyed getting together with family and friends. She was a great hostess, always known to have a home cooked meal on hand, as she loved having visitors drop in. She will be deeply missed by many.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff of Bobbys Hospice.
Doris is survived by her daughter Karen O’Leary of Rothesay, NB and her late son-in-law Hugh O’Leary; her son Corey McKinney of Nauwigewauk, NB; two grandchildren; Breanne Mather (Rob), Gregg O’Leary; one great-granddaughter Halle; one great-grandson Sutton; sister Loraine (Larry) Goldie of Saint John; two brothers Elsworth Blakney (Joy) and Arnold Blakney (Barbara) of Barnesville; several nieces and nephews.
