Obituary of Donald Steele
The death of Frank Donald "Don" Patrick Steele, age 88, of Nauwigewauk, NB, occurred on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Dr. V. A. Snow Centre, Hampton, NB. He was born on April 1, 1927 in Rothesay, NB, a son of the late Ralph and Ethel (Kennedy) Steele.
Don is survived by his brother John (Margaret) Steele, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Don was predeceased by his sister Betty Mackay, and by his brothers Dick, Bill, Joe, Tommy, and George.
Don graduated from UNB in 1949. He worked as a civil engineer with Public Works Canada for 32 years following which he served as vice president of Marystown Shipyard in NL. He was a member of the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of NL and NS.
Don loved to sail, and enjoyed his time on the water. He also liked a good drink of rum. He was part of the well-known Steele family clan of Rothesay.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. The funeral service, conducted by The Rev. J. Peter Gillies will take place Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 11:00am from Trinity Anglican Church, Kingston, NB. Interment will take place in the adjoining Cemetery.
