Obituary of Donald Ralph Doran

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Ralph Doran announce his passing which occurred on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Yarmouth, NS on October 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Leonce and Ruby (Graham) Doran. Don is survived by his sister-in-law Cathy Buck (Don) of Ottawa, ON; brother-in-law Murray Gordon (Pam) of Keswick Ridge, NB; nephews: David Buck (Beata) and Mark Gordon (Jennifer); and niece Jennifer Mittler (Matthew). In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his loving wife Esther Doran.

Don was a community minded individual and was involved with the Pickwauket Lions Club, Hampton Golf Club and was the past director of EMO. He spent 24 years in his career as a environment health officer for Health & Welfare Canada. During his time there, he over saw many important tasks such as food inspections on the Saint John cruise ships and inspecting the food given to the Queen when she visited. After retirement, Don formed his own environmental and health inspection consulting firm which he ran for several years. He loved bowling, golf, and to cheer on the Saint John Sea Dogs. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
