Obituary of Wendy Iola Branscombe
It is with great sadness that the family of Wendy Iola Branscombe announce her passing on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Wendy passed peacefully from heart-related complications, with her family by her side. Born on February 12, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Joan (White) Reece.
Wendy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, Nana, aunt, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, “Nona”, and friend. Caring, faithful, loyal, and friendly, she lived a life of service—to God, to her family, and to the people around her. She worked hard, valued her friendships, and could be counted on to offer help and encouragement.
For 45 years, Wendy was a dedicated employee of the Bank of Montreal. Throughout her career, she brought a strong work ethic and a caring, personal touch to her work. Her years at the bank were filled with more than professional accomplishments; they brought lasting friendships with coworkers and clients. Those relationships meant a great deal to her and were a cherished part of her working life.
Her faith was at the heart of who she was. A faithful member of Hampton Baptist Church, Wendy served on the Deacons’ Board, participated in her Wednesday Ladies’ Bible Study, and contributed to committees and church projects. She gladly gave her time and energy, helping people within her church family and supporting the work of the church. She expressed her love for God through her willingness to serve and her care for others.
Above all, Wendy dearly loved her family. She shared 52 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Earle, and was a steady source of love and support for her daughters and their families. She was deeply proud of them, celebrating their accomplishments and encouraging them through life’s challenges. Her family knew they could turn to her for honest guidance, a listening ear, and love that never wavered.
Wendy leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, kindness, and love. We will miss her presence, her friendship, and the comfort of knowing she was always there. Though our hearts ache, we find peace in knowing she is home with Jesus, reunited with loved ones who went before her, and resting in His care.
Wendy is survived by her loving husband Earle Branscombe of Hampton, NB; daughters: Andrea Vierling (Micah) of Factoryville, PA, Katherine Branscombe of Saint John, NB, and Jennifer Branscombe of Hampton, NB; grandchildren: Samuel Vierling (Jamie) and Isaac Verling; brothers Harold Reece (Juanita) of Cumberland Bay, NB and Lawrence Reece of Cumberland Bay, NB; and sister-in-law Janet Reece; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and her sweet pup Josie. In addition to her parents, Wendy was predeceased by her sister Faye Bizeau.
