Dave Weyman

Obituary of Dave Weyman

It is with deep sadness that the family of David Edward Weyman announce that he peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB.

Born in Saint John, NB, on October 30, 1950, he was the son of the late Dr. Stephen and Doris (Allan) Weyman. Dave is survived by his children Shauna Truter (John) of BC and Stephen Weyman of NB; beloved grandchildren: Victoria, Kyden, Leeza and Zachary; as well as his extended family.

David was a trusted advisor to many in his daily life as a father, grandfather, friend, and community member as well as in his work life as an Investment Advisor for CIBC Wood Gundy. To say he made a difference in people’s lives would be an understatement. Those closest to him would repeat a single refrain:

“Does Weyman look worried?”

And he rarely did… because he always had plans A through Z at the ready. So, we all knew everything would be OK.

He started dating the love of his life, Gail, in high school and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before she passed less than a year ago. They spent many summers on the river boating every weekend with family and friends thanks to his beloved RKYC where he served as Commodore. He enjoyed weekly racing, where he helmed “Mustang” to many great victories.

Over his 75 years, he developed many lifelong friendships and hobbies. He loved duck hunting at the camp with the boys, snowmobiling across the province, tinkering on anything that “blows smoke and makes noise,” not to mention playing cribbage with friends, family, and his beloved grandchildren.

The family homestead affectionately known as Penderel Place was in his family for close to 100 years and was a seasonal gathering place where untold memories and countless Thanksgiving dinners were shared and turkeys were named. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Hampton, NB. Donations in the memory of Dave may be made to charities of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and memorial donations may be made through ReidsFH.com.
