Obituary of Dave Vanier

The family of David Gordon Vanier are saddened to announce his passing, Sept 11, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 19, 1949, in Iroquois Falls, ON, Dave was the son of the late Edmond and Rita (Keeping) Vanier. 

Dave is survived by his wife Frances (Short) Vanier; daughters: Tracy (Rob) Mercer of Erb’s Cove, NB, Elisha Ganong (Doug) of Kingston, NB; son Jason (Lindsay) Scribner of Didsbury, AB; siblings: Ruby (Darwin) Ryan, Edmond (Lorraine) Vanier, Valerie (Andrew) Robertson, Rob Vanier; six grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

Dave worked as a carpenter for years, a proud member of the Carpenters union local 1386.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycle. In his recent years you could expect to find Dave at the local Tim Hortons every night at 7. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATVing, riding motorcycle and being busy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:30 PM, with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM, all from Reid’s Funeral Home Chapel.
