Obituary of D. Richard LeBlanc

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Richard LeBlanc announce his passing on August 19th, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his children. Born on January 25th, 1948, Donald, commonly referred to as Richard, lived a long and prosperous life, as he was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a devoted catholic and Acadian, and a friend to all who knew him.

After graduating from St. Malachy's Memorial High School, Richard then attended St. Thomas University to become a teacher, a career he kept for over 30 years (1973-2003), during which he taught at schools such as Kennebecasis Valley High School and Hampton High School, where many of his colleagues and students referred to him as R Le B.

Richard is survived by his siblings, his brother Emery and Sisters Diana and Muriel, and of course his loving and beautiful children. His two daughters, Corrie Lynn and Carrie Lee, and his sons, Richie and Jamie. Despite his sudden passing, Richard’s spirit will continue to live on through his many grandchildren: Alexandra, Courtney, Abigail, Spencer, Gracie, Maxwell, Cameron, Kara, Joel, AJ, Benjamin, and Matteo. Richard also leaves behind three young, loving great-grandchildren: Axel, Wrenlee and Emberly.

He was predeceased by his wife, Linda and his siblings, Robert, Bobby, Paul, Roger, Linda, Alma, and Shirley; his mother and father, Mary and Ivan; and his stepfather, Placide.

He is also survived by his extended family, Amber, Patricia and his best friend Diane.

For Richard, family meant everything to him. He always put in the work to make sure that every single person that was related to him was taken care of and felt loved, even if they were not related by blood. More importantly, his babies were more important to him than anyone in the world, and he showed it every day by being the most loving and caring man on the planet. For Richard, love had no boundaries. During even the darkest of times, he always found a way to make people smile and to help them remember that they were loved. Richard accomplished a lot in his 78 years of life, but the most incredible of all his creations was his family. His children, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, his nieces, his nephews, and quite literally anyone who had the privilege of knowing the incredible man that he was. They are the greatest accomplishment that Richard ever achieved.

Roses are red, violets are blue, the world will not be the same without you.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
