Obituary of Edward Russell

It is with sadness that Judy (Long) Russell announces the passing of her beloved husband, Edward Stephen Russell, which occurred on Monday, July 6, 2026 at his home in Kingston, NB. Born in Saint John, NB on April 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (McDormand) Russell.

Edward had a deep love for the outdoors and was happiest hunting, fishing, or exploring on his ATV. A hardworking and dedicated man, he spent 38 years with Marine Atlantic, starting as a deckhand and steadily working his way into the engine room as an engine room assistant—a position he affectionately called being a “grease monkey.” While visiting his aunt in Hampton, New Brunswick, he met the love of his life. Together they shared 57 happy years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories, always enjoying life’s journey together

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A private burial will take place in Gulliver’s Cove, NS at a later date. Donations in memory of Edward may be made to the Hampton Food Basket, Alzheimer Society or Canadian Cancer Association.
