Obituary of Lynn Frances Sleath

It is with love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lynn Frances Sleath (Comeau) on June 23, 2026, at Bobby’s Hospice in Saint John, NB. Lynn was born in Saint John, NB, on September 16, 1952, to the late Norman and Frances (Best) Comeau. She grew up in Saint John, NB and spent her adult years in Grand Bay-Westfield, Quispamsis and Hampton, NB. Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Brian; her children, Matthew (Jody) Sleath, and Heather (Scott) Crilley; and her grandchildren Brittany, Olivia, Riley, Wyatt and Asher. She is also survived by her brothers Wayne (Maria) and Brian (Bonnie) and her sister Mary Lou (Brian), as well as other members of her extended family. She is predeceased by her sister, Carol.

Lynn and Brian built a life together grounded in love, respect, and companionship. Lynn was also a loving mother and grandmother (“Nana”), a cherished friend, and a compassionate registered nurse who dedicated her life to caring for others. Throughout her nursing career, with much of it spent in the Recovery Room, she touched countless lives with her kindness, skill, and calming presence. She formed many lifelong friendships with colleagues who became like family over the years.

Known for her selfless nature, Lynn always put others before herself. She had a generous heart, a gentle spirit, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel comfortable, loved and supported. Whether caring for patients, supporting friends, or spending time with loved ones, Lynn gave of herself wholeheartedly. In her free time, she found joy in gardening, reading, crocheting, and other creative pursuits. Some of Lynn's happiest moments were spent travelling the world and discovering new places with Brian and the many friends who joined them on their adventures.

Lynn faced her cancer diagnosis with strength and grace. Her family would like to say thank you to Dr. Brian O’Neill, Dr. Samantha Gray and the staff in the Oncology Department at the Saint John Regional Hospital, the staff and volunteers on the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Extra Mural Nursing, and the staff and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice for all of their support and dedicated care.

Lynn will be remembered for her compassion, empathy, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her legacy will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where visitation will be held from 2 to 4pm on Saturday, June 27th, 2026. Family and friends are invited to come and share memories and to celebrate her life.
