Obituary of Don Robertson

With gratitude for his life and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Leslie Robertson on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on November 1, 1945, Don was the son of the late Leslie and Margaret (Pickle) Robertson.

Don graduated from Hampton Consolidated School in 1963 before attending the New Brunswick Technical Institute, where he earned his diploma in Electrical Technology in 1965. He began his career with NBTel in Moncton that same year and transferred to Saint John in 1983. Don remained a dedicated member of the NBTel team until his retirement in April 2000.

An active member of Quispamsis United Church since 1983, Don served on numerous committees and contributed generously to the life of the congregation. He was also involved with the Telephone Pioneers Saint John Computer Workshop (Computers for Schools Program). A longtime member of the Hampton Curling Club, he enjoyed both curling and volunteering as part of the ice‑making team. Don also served as Director and Treasurer of the Titus Hill Cemetery.

Don found joy in the simple pleasures of life: camping with family, woodworking, tending his garden, riding his tractor, and caring for his lawn. He took great pride in building his retirement home on the Robertson homestead. Above all, he cherished time spent with his three daughters and his grandchildren. He loved sharing meals with family and friends and treasured the hours spent doing puzzles with his beloved wife, Marilyn. Don adored Marilyn and the life they built together, often saying, “All of me, loves all of you.”

Don is survived by his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Marilyn (Vincent) Robertson; his girls: Krista DeWolfe (Geoff) of Titusville, NB, Angela Gougeon of Bradford, ON, and Heather Alward (Michael) of Titusville, NB; his grandchildren: Ashlee Orchard, Robert Orchard, Ethan Alward, Ben Alward, and Alex DeWolfe (Lindsay); and his brothers‑in‑law: Rodney Vincent (Kathy) of Quispamsis, NB, and Bev Vincent (Mary Anne) of The Woodlands, Texas. He is also remembered by his three nieces: Sherry, Julie, and Virginia, and many dear friends.

Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by four infant sisters; his father and mother‑in‑law, Donald and Edna Vincent; and his son‑in‑law, Ken Gougeon.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Maloney, Dr. Hansen, Dr. Bewick, Dr. Love, and the exceptional nurses and staff of both the CCU and Palliative Care Units at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their compassionate care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506‑832‑5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the Titus Hill Cemetery, Titusville, NB. Donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Titus Hill Cemetery or to the Saint John Regional Hospital – Palliative Care Unit.
